At Profile Orthodontics, we’re here to guide you through every stage of your orthodontic journey. Whether you're coming in for a simple consultation or embarking on a full treatment plan, our goal is to make sure you feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.

Here’s what you can expect throughout your treatment journey:

Your first appointment – the planning stage

Your first visit is all about understanding your smile, your goals, and your individual needs.

At this consultation, your orthodontist will:

Conduct a detailed examination of your teeth, bite, and jaw
Take clinical photos, digital scans, and radiographs (if needed)
Discuss your concerns and what you hope to achieve

These diagnostic records help us create a precise, personalised treatment plan, tailored to your bite, facial structure, and long-term goals. A solid plan from the start lays the groundwork for a successful outcome.

You’ll receive clear, honest advice about any issues and recommended treatments. In some cases, we may suggest monitoring your growth or development before starting treatment.Our Treatment Coordinator will also answer all your questions about costs, payment options, timing, and what to expect next.

Active treatment – creating your new smile

Once you’re ready to begin, we move into the Active Treatment Stage. This is where your smile starts to transform.

Depending on your treatment plan, this stage may include:

Braces (metal or ceramic)
Clear aligners (such as Invisalign® treatment)
Functional appliances
Other specialised orthodontic devices

Throughout treatment, we’ll schedule regular appointments to monitor your progress, make adjustments, and ensure everything is tracking according to plan.

We’ll also provide guidance on:

Oral hygiene with orthodontic appliances
Diet and care tips to avoid breakages or delays
Managing any discomfort or concerns

You’re never on your own. We’re here to support you with personalised care and advice at every visit.

Debonding – the big reveal

When your teeth have reached their ideal positions and your bite is properly aligned, it’s time for debonding. This is the day your braces or aligners come off!

This is an exciting milestone, and one we love to celebrate with our patients.

At this appointment, we’ll:

Gently remove your braces or attachments
Polish your teeth for that fresh, clean feeling
Take final records (photos and scans) of your finished smile

But while your active treatment may be over, your orthodontic journey isn't quite finished yet…

Retainers & aftercare – protecting your smile

To maintain your new smile, you’ll be given custom retainers to wear as directed. This part of your treatment is essential. Teeth naturally want to shift back over time, so retainers help keep everything right where it should be.

We’ll guide you on when and how to wear your retainers and how to clean and care for them. We’ll also schedule a few short follow-up appointments to check on your retainers and ensure your smile is staying stable.

Your long-term results matter to us. Even after your active treatment is complete, we’re still here to support your ongoing care.
