X-rays
At Profile Orthodontics, we use X-rays to gain a clear and detailed view of your teeth, roots, and jaw structure. These images help us understand the exact position of your teeth, identify any teeth that have not yet emerged through the gums, and plan your treatment with precision.
Types of X-rays at our practice
We use two primary types of radiographs in orthodontics:
Cephalometric Radiographs (Lat Ceph)
These side-view X-rays show the relationship between your teeth, jaws, and skull, helping us assess facial growth and plan for orthodontic correction.
Panoramic Radiographs (OPG)
These provide a broad overview of the teeth and jaws in a single image, allowing us to detect issues like impacted teeth, jaw joint problems, or missing teeth.
Our state-of-the-art digital cephalostat technology scans the head horizontally using a narrow X-ray beam. This method delivers exceptionally clear images while keeping radiation exposure to a minimum, ensuring a very low, safe, and effective dose for our patients.
These scans are a routine and important part of your orthodontic assessment, giving us the insight needed to design a treatment plan tailored just for you.
